Description
The Monks of the Abbaye de Lerins began producing wine with their arrival on this small Mediterranean island in 400 A.D. While many wars devastated the island over the century devastated the island, wine has always been produced here (except during a brief Muslim occupation). The Monks, besides their daily duties to God are quite and enterprising group, marketing everything from wine and beer to cd's of their chants, candles, incense, posters and essential oils. Cuvee St Pierre is the Abbaye's white blend, which consists of 60% Clairette, which is not to be confused with the nickname given to Bordeaux wines - Claret, and 40% Chardonnay. These two grapes combine to offer fruity aromas of peach and banana along with white flowers. The palate has a silky and comforting finish that will pair perfectly with seafood and shellfish. Elegant French gift for dry white wine lovers! ADLB02 ADLB02
