DescriptionCarved by hand on smooth tweneboa wood, geometric motifs adorn a beautiful djembe drum. Nana Adu Amankwapam I names it Okyeame, Akan for "Spokesman." This title is usually conferred upon the king's personal messenger. The goatskin head is affixed by iron rings wrapped in cloth, and a macram? cord carries it from place to place. |
