Renewable energy typically refers to wind, solar, geothermal, biomass and other non-carbon producing energy sources. When you support renewable energy, Carbonfund.org purchases and retires renewable energy certificates (RECs), increasing demand for and reducing the costs for renewable energy. All Carbonfund.org RECs are verified by the non-profit Environmental Resources Trust.
